Kun spefikirjoittaja ja pelinörtti kävelivät sisään baariin… se saattoi alkaa vitsinä, mutta siitä syntyi tarinaprojekti ja bisnesidea The Burning Squid.
Visiomme on yhdistellä pelien ja kirjojen tarinamaailmoita uudella tavalla.
Tällä hetkellä toimimme itsenäisenä luovana projektina, mutta haluamme kasvaa peli- ja kirjakustantamoksi. Tavoitteemme on tuottaa pelejä ja kirjoja, jotka innostavat sekä uusia että kokeneempia pelaajia ja lukijoita uusien tarinamaailmoiden äärelle. Toivomme, että tulevaisuudessa voimme tarjota julkaisukanavan myös uusille luoville ideoille.
The Burning Squidin liekit ja lonkerot sijaitsevat kahdessa maassa, Suomessa ja Isossa-Britanniassa. Frida-Maria Pessi on kirjoittaja, kulttuurituottaja ja sanataideohjaaja. Andy Burns on lauta- ja roolipelaamisen veteraani.

Wilhelmiinan seikkailut
Wilhelmiina on pieni ilmalaiva ja lastenromaani Liilan ja Robinin ystävyydestä. Kun lapset valitsevat seikkailunsa heittämällä noppaa, saattaa vastaan tulla lempeä lumimies, haisevia zombeja tai kurittomia kissoja.
Salaboan aikakirjat
Nimikkoprojektimme Salaboan aikakirjat sijoittuvat eeppiseen fantasiamaailmaan, jossa on ripaus synkkyyttyä. Tarkoituksena on esitellä maailmaa tarkemmin blogissamme ja toivottavasti julkaista myöhemmin novelli ja pelisarja sen ympärille.
Pelioppaat
Eräs osa projektiamme tulevat olemaan pelikirjat, joissa roolipelaamista, kirjallisuutta ja tarinamaailmoita tullaan lähestymään uudella tavalla.

When a geeky writer and a gaming nerd entered a bar…. It may have started as a joke but now we look to become a serious business.The original idea for our projects formed from a myriad of casual conversations and so one day from our random ideas, the burning squid was born.
Our vision is to intermerge the fantasy world of games and stories in new ways for all to enjoy.
For now we are performing as an independent creative project around the world of gaming and fantasy stories. In the future we hope to expand and become game and book publishers, providing interesting content to the gamers and fantasy lovers as well as people still new to the genre. Someday we would also like to offer a platform where future content creators can launch their dreams and ideas.
The flames and tentacles of The Burning Squids are located in two countries, Finland and UK. The project is runned by Andy Burns and Frida Maria Pessi.

The Projects
The Adventures of Wilhelmina
Wilhelmina is a tiny airship and a children’s book about the friendship of Robin and Lila. When the kids choose their adventures by rolling a dice you can never know if they will come across a gentle Yeti, smelly zombies or the clowder of cats.
The Guide Books
We are looking to do a series of guides for a range of skill levels in the world of gaming, from the hardcore veteran game masters who are looking for new inspiring ways to run their games to the releative newbies who are looking to dip their toes in the wonderful world of role playing games.
The Chronicles of Salaboa
Our initial project, The Chronicles of Salaboa, has already begun with a prologue to our epic fantasy world with a twist of Noir. Our goal is to introduce the story world in our blog and hopefully end up with a series of novels and board/roleplaying game hybrid. We look to add to this in the foreseeable future.
